Lecture 1: Sleep Apnea in Clinical Orthodontics – What is it and how can one help.
With more than 80 respiratory disorders, the orthodontist can play a big role helping children and adults, specially regarding Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA). This presentation will show the basics about sleep apnea, including definitions, severity assessment, and how the orthodontist can play a role as a healthcare provider. A very simple and efficient method of risk assessment can be easily incorporated into an orthodontic office, and have the potential of changing lives from the first day.

Lecture 2: Sleep Apnea in Clinical Orthodontics – Treatment or Management?
This presentation will address treatment and management options for patients with sleep apnea, the potential effects of orthodontic treatment, and possible solutions ranging from expansion, oral appliances, and surgical options. As healthcare providers, there is a lot more that we can do to our patients, but this does not mean that it needs to interfere with the efficiency and the practice flow already in place.
