Orthodontic Aligner Treatment: An Overview

Nowadays clear aligner technique is wide-spread and has expanded its limits by incorporating more treatment types in managing different malocclusions of various age groups. Driven by aggressive marketing of the various companies that offer clear aligner service and taking advantage of the attractiveness of aligners to the esthetically-conscious adult and adolescent patients, the clear aligner philosophy has reached a point that relevant scientific documentation and evidence needs to be critically considered in order to clearly identify the advantages and limitations of this technique. The presentation will review the subject from clinical, technical, materials, and treatment outcome perspectives emphasizing on the principles and evidence of aligner treatment.
